It’s been a busy couple of months starting with the Tendring Hundred Show. A big thank you to everyone that gave up their time to set up the boats, attend the show and help clear away after. It was a long day but a very enjoyable one and sparked a lot of interest from the public. They were very impressed with the variety of boats on display and keen to learn more about our club.
It was particularly exciting this year as the BBC came and interviewed some of our club members and filmed the boats for a documentary that will be aired next January.
We did a raffle which raised money for the Tendring Hundred Show’s many charities. The winner of the boat was thrilled and said he would take up sailing and come and visit our club one day.
The ploughman’s lunch on Regatta day was a huge success, Sandra and Frances prepared 30 ploughman’s for members and their families. Everyone enjoyed the day.
I have had a couple of conversations with Terry after this weekend and he has now refilled the lake twice.
It has come to my attention that there was a complaint from the council regarding motorboats going too fast . Can I respectfully remind you to keep your speed down.
We have two forthcoming events in the Autumn. One being the soup night and the other being an auction of boats. Both dates will be decided at the next committee meeting and a note will be displayed on the club notice board.
As you can see my wife has been on a taster course for I pads ! It’s not perfect, still work in progress !
Happy sailing, Gary
